CoDA World Fellowship Service Conference Day 1: July 8, 2014
Day 1
Acronyms: reminder to all committees to please spell them out so that it is clear to members of the fellowship what we are referencing.
If a motion passes with less than 2/3 approval, the Board is not bound by the motion.

Board made the motion to change the order of their motions so they could bring up late motions before some of their motions that were on time. The motion passed

Board presented a motion to update the Fellowship Service Manual to be consistent with the CoDA Board Policy and Procedures Manual and the Bylaws.

Most income shows from royalties from CoRe, and 7th Tradition, and events - each quarter (Eventbrite funds are received periodically and then we get the chunk at the time of the event). Expenses go to outside services and travel.

Voting - Wednesday is the Questions & Answers session - Thursday afternoon is the voting
Arizona Voting Entity Issue {Voting Entity Issues go to the Board and then sent to Committees to deal with these issues, Board decided to allow Arizona to make their motion now and it could be decided-10 minutes allotted)

SoCal: 6 Intergroups, all with websites, host conferences, Los Angeles retreat, day long workshops, holidays there are marathons www.lacoda.org
Mexico: announced legal formation of the group in Mexico, can deal with finance and legal matters of the org in Mexico, can now have offices, distribute literature, warehouses, and carry on CoDA business, 50 groups registered nationally
France: small, just beginning - began with 1 person, 1 meeting (10 active members, 20 at times) began to translate the workbook into French-streamlined and effective, would like official sponsorship to help the groups/attendees expand, the word/idea is visible but CoDA is not
Washington: large, diverse state, CoDA grown everywhere, meet in-person and by teleconference, have a website-updated meetings/events, 1st Women's Retreat-sold out, annual Winter Retreat, 4 main events per year, Spring into Recovery=150 people, beach picnic, 25 meetings state-wide
Malaysia: {presentation on media display}, 1 CoDA meeting (3-4 members), near the Capital City, cooperate with other groups - 12-step programs on events, etc., created blog-member, meeting in English-3 other main language-could use more translation and get more material out to help expand the group
Board Motions June 2013 – June 2014
Seek approval for these motions that the Board has processed throughout the year.
Motion #14005 (placed in the packet) will have a note attached to it that it was not ratified by the Coda Service Conference.
Comment: these motions are posted on the website throughout the year so groups can see what the Board is handling
