Attendance at CSC 2024 will be both in person and virtually via the internet.Once again, a Voting Entity (VE) or Intergroup will be able to submit a Voting Entity Motion (VEM) in the same manner as the CoDA Board, CoRe Board, and CoDA’s Standing Committees. Is there anything your VE or Intergroup would like to see changed? Now’s your chance! Note that VEMs are due at the same time that all other motions are due which is 75 days prior to the start of conference. For CSC 2024, this date is 2024 May 8 by 11:59PM PDT. Seeking Meetings To Host CoDAthon Meetings For The December 2023 Holidays

I believe we had 24 hour coverage, & it is much appreciated!</div><div data-crea="font-wrapper" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px;direction: ltr"> </div><div data-crea="font-wrapper" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px;direction: ltr">Today, I'm writing to ask if any meetings would be up for any time slot(s) during the 48 hours of Christmas and/or the 48 hours of New Year's. We especially have a need at this time for New Year's day after 1 PM Pacific on New Year's Day, after 8 PM Pacific on New Year's Eve, & late night/middle of the night meetings on all 4 days; though we will gratefully accept all offers from CoDA meetings for any time on the 4 days. According to our records, you may have been a past delegate to the CoDA Service Conference (CSC). We would like to invite you to attend the delegate Relations Task Force. If you are not already on the Delegate Relations Task force, & would like to be or would like information, please email <a href="mailto:drtf@coda.org?subject=I'd%20like%20to%20join%20DRTF">drtf@coda.org</a> & you will be added to the email list. My error, there was supposed to be more in this email: At the CoDA Service Conference, CSC, in August of 2022, a motion was passed to create a new task force, “Delegate Relations Task Force” (DRTF). We have been working since then and are planning to return to CSC 2023 with a motion to become a standing committee.At this point, we could really use some new and renewed participation in order to take some concrete actions in a few specific areas and be able to present a motion in July highlighting our progress.The workgroup areas we are focused on are: • Communication • Mission Statement • Delegate engagementSo, who can be on the task force and join these Workgroups? • Past Delegates • New Delegates • Committee Chairs • Intergroup ChairsOur goal is to improve Communication between world committees, and intergroups. We know this will be an on-going process and, will require improving current intergroup lists to ensure communications from the task force reach all those that will benefit from our activities. We hope this will aid in all communication from meetings to the Board. Eventually, as a standing committee, we will have our own web page on the CoDA website as another communication resource.A couple of members have developed a draft Mission Statement that is quite ambitious in some ways, and not yet precise in others. We need to bring together a Mission Statement Workgroup to work at brainstorming and prioritizing our goals. Additionally, we need to create a Policies and Procedures manual that reflects our mission.Our last major focus is Delegate engagement. We would like to better understand the needs of delegates, and address ways the delegates can be served while doing service. This purpose will be addressed by a Delegate Engagement Workgroup. Members of this Workgroup will identify projects that will provide information, support and encouragement, for delegates and those considering the position. This is certainly important for new delegates, but also for continuing delegates who have already attended a CSC, and intergroup meetings and are looking for experience, strength, and hope.Whether or not you have previously attended any of our meetings we hope you will consider joining our team, and supporting our “Workgroups”. Select one that you feel passionate about, and come join this very exciting task force. Each workgroup will have its own meeting time for brainstorming sessions.We are focused on making real progress toward the realization of a “Delegate Relations Committee”, but we need more participants to share in the process. A strong CoDA Intergroup/Community Service Group contributes to the success of CoDA in general. A sense of community at the local level leads to success in attracting and sustaining the involvement of members of the fellowship in service work and in community building activities. The Twelve Traditions and the Twelve Service Concepts of CoDA offer guidance in establishing service boards. Intergroups/CSGs typically elect officers and committee chairs. This is an optional level and typically exists where sufficient meetings or distance require an interim level between meetings and the Voting Entity.A Voting Entity (VE) is a level of Fellowship within CoDA that handles the business aspects for a group typically made up of two or more Intergroups/CSGs and/or Meetings. An Intergroup/CSG may serve as a Voting Entity if decided by group conscience, when it is the only Intergroup/CSG within a VE. The Voting Entity organization provides a bridge between Intergroups/CSGs, and CoDA World.  <a href="https://coda.org/wp-content/uploads/FSM-Part-4-Service-Conference-Procedures.pdf" style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline">FSM Part 4: Service Conference Procedures</a>:  Section 02: Guidelines for Board, Committee and Voting Entity (VE) Reports, Issues and Motions Presented at CoDA Service Conference (CSC), the guidelines for submitting a VEM is as follows:a. Local Voting Entity discusses an issue and writes a Motion to resolve the issue by using the group conscience process.b. Voting Entity drafts the VEM, as a Motion by completing the Motion Formc. The VEM may not dishonor or be in conflict with any Bylaws, Steps, Traditions, or legal considerations.d. The VE or Intergroup may request assistance from the Board or a CoDA Standing Committee in drafting and presenting the motion. The Board or a CoDA Standing Committee may also offer assistance or provide guidance to the VE in drafting and presenting the motion.From CoDA ByLaws: <a href="https://coda.org/wp-content/uploads/CoDA-ByLaws.pdf" style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline">CoDA Bylaws</a>Section 2. Voting Entities (Entities) Each state, province, territory of all Countries and those Countries who had created national Voting Entities as of the date, September 10, 2019, of this motion are established as a Voting Entity (VE) until such time as the regions or provinces have become well established and no longer need assistance from the recognized National Voting Entity. A single Voting Entity is established to represent all “Alternative Format Meetings” (AFM) and is entitled to send two (2) Delegates. AFM is defined as all meetings that do not physically meet face-to-face in a physical location.Any Voting Entity may surrender its two (2) Delegates and request to subdivide. The governing principle is that a member of the Fellowship will only be represented d by one Delegates. An entity may request subset of two (2) divisions for reasons of geographical separation, language, or other recognizable characteristics. Each entity may request that it be split along an internally agreed upon division and each sub-Delegates. Seeking Meetings To Host CoDAthons For The 2022 Holidays

Dear Group Service Reps,First, thank you for opening this email!For those who are not aware, a "CoDAthon" is a non-stop series of meetings during the holidays, especially geared towards the Co-dependent who still suffers. It's especially helpful for those without family or those who would benefit from additional support during the holiday season. The idea originated decades ago in at least one other 12 step group. The CoDA alt meetings started doing similar fairly early this century. The last several years, these meetings have been made available to the entire fellowship. Generally, they are offered Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Day; and New Year's Eve & Day.Up until this year, 3 of the alt meetings were sponsoring these meetings. Last year, we opened it up to all the internet & phone meetings, & had a great success.So we are writing to ask if your meeting would be willing to sponsor a CoDAthon meeting, even for one of the 5 days. And of course, the more meetings, the better!Basically, it requires that the sponsoring meeting has a Zoom account or phone account & that we can share the log in information with the fellowship. CoDA Group Representative List: CoDA Needs A Host Community For 2024 CSC/ICC

CoDA is looking for Intergroup communities to host the 2024, and beyond, CoDA Service Conference (CSC) and International CoDA Convention (ICC). The CSC is CoDA World’s annual business meeting. The CSC is held each year in order to transact CoDA World business through the group conscience process. The ICC is a weekend of speakers and workshop the weekend following CSC. The CSC runs Monday – Thursday and ICC runs Friday – Sunday.The Host Community works with the CoDA Events Committee to put on both events. Typically the Host Community operates a hospitality room and welcome table during the events and are the eyes and ears of the Events Committee in the area. Each Host Community is eligible for a Host Grant, which will help cover the cost to send a Delegate to a future CSC.An area with a strong CoDA presence is desirable (but not required) as workshop leaders and speakers are typically drawn from the local area. The Voting Entity organization provides a bridge between Intergroups/CSGs, and CoDA World.The Fellowship Service Manual of Co-Dependents Anonymous Part 1 Approved 2021 CoDA Fellowship Service Manual Part 1 Page 15 Last Revision: 2021-10-30 Each state, province, territory of all Countries and those Countries who had created national Voting Entities as of the date, September 10, 2019, of this motion are established as a Voting Entity (VE) until such time as the regions or provinces have become well established and no longer need assistance from the recognized National Voting Entity and are entitled to send two (2) Delegates to the CoDA Service Conference (CSC). Sometimes two or more Voting Entities may choose to join together in order to combine resources and better serve the needs of their meetings and Intergroups. No state, country or Voting Entity shall be considered to have surrendered their rights to representation and voting at the CoDA Service Conference in spite of any affiliation without having surrendered those rights in writing to CoDA World. CoDA Group Representative List: CoDA Needs A Host Community For 2024 CSC/ICC

CoDA is looking for Intergroup communities to host the 2024, and beyond, CoDA Service Conference (CSC) and International CoDA Convention (ICC). The CSC is CoDA World’s annual business meeting. The CSC is held each year in order to transact CoDA World business through the group conscience process. The ICC is a weekend of speakers and workshop the weekend following CSC. The CSC runs Monday – Thursday and ICC runs Friday – Sunday.The Host Community works with the CoDA Events Committee to put on both events. Typically the Host Community operates a hospitality room and welcome table during the events and are the eyes and ears of the Events Committee in the area. Each Host Community is eligible for a Host Grant, which will help cover the cost to send a Delegate to a future CSC.An area with a strong CoDA presence is desirable (but not required) as workshop leaders and speakers are typically drawn from the local area. (see insert below).This includes Boards, Committees, and Voting Entity (VE) Motions.Motions submitted by Voting Entities (VE) will now be referred to as “VE Motions”, and VE’s will bring their motions directly to CSC exactly as the Boards and World Committees currently do.This year's deadline is June 8, 2022.Note: CoDA Inc.
