Hello and thank you very much to our CoDA trusted servants who signed up for this email list!

Our hope is that Group Reps will share these messages with their home meetings, and that intergroup members will share them with each other as well as their meetings.

We’re writing today to share information about the CoDA World Fellowship Email lists with the members of the CoDA meeting(s) you represent. In late 2009, we created 4 email lists. Today, those lists are the main method of communication between CoDA’s World service volunteers, meetings and fellowship members.

The lists were created to share information, create a sense of CoDA community and especially for members in areas with few or no CoDA meetings to be able to connect with CoDA as a whole. 100% anonymity of subscribers is maintained. Unsubscribing from any list is easy: just go to the bottom right of any list email and click on the button that says “unsubscribe automatically”.

CoDA’s largest list has approximately 9500 subscribers. While the number of subscribers has grown every quarter since we started the lists, we reach only a small percentage of CoDA members worldwide. That’s why we are asking for your help in spreading the word about the usefulness of subscribing to these lists.

We currently have 4 lists:

1. CoDA General Announcements.

The purpose of this list is to share information with CoDA members, especially concerning information that may affect CoDA as a whole. We send out regular emails about CoDA events, announcements, issues and CoDA business. These emails may interest specific regions or the entire CoDA fellowship.

Per the Second Tradition, “For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority, a loving higher power as expressed to our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.”

Developing a group conscience requires an informed fellowship. To be effective trusted servants, those you've elected must be aware of the group conscience of the fellowship.

2. CoDA Quarterly Service Report (QSR).

The QSR is a quarterly publication in which all CoDA World Fellowship Committees plus the CoDA Board of Trustees, SOS (our management company), CoRe (CoDA publishing) and the Email List Coordinator summarize their activities from the previous quarter with the fellowship. Please note that for this list only, we send file attachments that range in size from 40k to 350k.

3. CoDA Weekly Readings

Each week, subscribers receive an email with a new recovery reading written by a CoDA member. This list provides subscribers with thoughts to reflect upon during the week.

4. CoDA Hospital & Institution Information Contact List

This list is for CoDA members who are H & I (Hospital and Institutions) contacts for their region or group. It conveys information regarding H & I service opportunities and resources from the H & I Committee, to share with one’s Intergroup or local meetings. Individual members may also subscribe this list in order find out more about H & I service.

There are 2 ways to subscribe:

1. Go directly to http://www.codependents.org/

OR…………..

2. Go to http://coda.org/ and click on "Email Signup" at the top right.

See the guide on "how to get CoDA emails past spam filters" at the bottom right of this page:

http://coda.org/index.cfm/emailsignup/

All past emails are archived on the codependents.org website. To review previous messages from any of the 4 lists (Announcements, Quarterly Service Report, Hospitals & Institutions, or Co-NNections), please go here:

http://www.codependents.org/  and click on the blue title of the list you'd like to review. After clicking, you can browse or search. The archive goes all the way back to January 2010 for the QSR and to December 2009 for the General CoDA Announcements list.

Again, we would greatly appreciate it if you, as a meeting or intergroup contact, would share this information with your local meetings.

Thank you again for your service to CoDA!

In service,

Geff R.
