Voting Entity (VE) groups are formed to represent a group of meetings, Intergroup, Region or country and support sending two delegates to represent such a group at the CoDA Service Conference (CSC).
The Alternative Format Meeting Taskforce (AFMTF) was created at the 2022 CoDA Service Conference (CSC) to establish an official Voting Entity group to represent Alternative Format Meetings.
We are excited to announce that the Alternative Meeting Format Voting Entity has been recognized by our Issues Mediation Committee (IMC). The task force is no longer needed and thus has been dissolved.
The CoDA Board recognizes and thanks our IMC Voting Entity Liaison (VEL) for her dedication and hard work, assisting the VE with their process, including creation of their Bylaws.
All meetings who currently meet by phone, online, hybrid (face to face and online), or any other electronic meeting format now have a choice to join the AFM VE or to join a face to face Voting Entity with which they identify.
If your group is interested in having a group service representative (GSR) represent your meeting in the Alternative Meeting Format (AFM) Voting Entity (VE), please send an email to alternativeformatmeeting@coda.org.
According to our Bylaws: Article IV – Membership and Voting Section, Section 2:
Each state, province, territory of all Countries and those Countries who had created national Voting Entities as of the date, September 10, 2019, of this motion are established as a Voting Entity (VE) until such time as the regions or provinces have become well established and no longer need assistance from the recognized National Voting Entity. A single Voting Entity is established to represent all “Alternative Format Meetings” (AFM) and is entitled to send two (2) Delegates. AFM is defined as all meetings that do not physically meet face-to-face in a physical location.
We look forward to seeing more VE representation of the Fellowship at our 2023 CoDA Service Conference in Houston, Texas.
See you there!

Developing a group conscience requires an informed fellowship, & to be effective trusted servants those you've elected must know the group conscience of the fellowship.
