CoDA Fellowship Email - New Year Greetings

From: "CoDA Announcements" <codalist@codependents.org>
Date: January 30th 2022

Greetings from the CoDA Board of Trustees,

As we move into 2022, we wanted to celebrate everything we accomplished in 2021, and welcome in the New Year.

Knowing we are all here for our personal recovery, the CoDA Board’s mission is to ensure the longevity and fiscal health of CoDA. To support our mission, we are concentrating on those things we believe will keep our Fellowship healthy and thriving including improving our website, making sound financial decisions, encouraging service by example, improving efficiencies and addressing legal issues to protect the fellowship, and copyright issues.

During the 2021 “Year of Service”, we remained strong and used our creativity to find new ways to gather, and do service. We would like to name 2022, “A Year of Growth in Recovery”, and encourage everyone to find their own journey as we move through the year.

This year’s CoDA Service Conference and International CoDA Convention will occur August 21-28 in Rapid City, South Dakota with the theme, “Do Big Things in Recovery!”. We are looking forward to again meeting in person to hear the voices of our Fellowship that will provide direction to the Board and committees enabling our growth in recovery.

Yours in Service,

Gail, Yaniv, Barbara, Faith, Joe, Katherine, and Florence.

In closing, we would like to share a message from our Founders, Ken and Mary:

January 2022

Dear CoDA,

As 2021 has come to a close and we are embarking on a New Year of 2022, we are filled with gratitude and love for all of you within CoDA. We are all CoDA and CoDA is each of us.

The last two years have been a challenge for us all with the pandemic. We have been pushed to grow in ways that we had thought unimaginable. And, as always, our Loving Higher Power took this challenging situation and brought us closer together through the Zoom Meetings and Workshops. We were blessed to participate in many of those. Our experience of sharing at the many events around our CoDA world was so delightful. The committee members and the workshop attendees filled our hearts with great love and joy.

Our CoDA Community became much more intimate as we were all able to attend the Zoom meetings and workshops in various regions and countries. It gave us an opportunity to hear the wisdom of so many CoDA members and how they have grown through the working of the 12 Steps. It gave a deep level of hope for us all that we are never alone, that there are thousands of us who are working together to heal our relationships with ourselves, with others and with our Higher Power. We have truly become one very large CoDA family.

We are reminded that the 12 Steps are our spiritual guidelines for our personal growth and the 12 Traditions are our spiritual guidelines for CODA's growth and service work with others. Whether our service work is reaching our hand out to newcomers that have come through the door, setting up a Zoom meeting or Phone meeting, or participating at the local, state, national or world service levels, it is all of us who have made CoDA what it is today and we are truly grateful to you all.

We look forward to 2022 and what it has to offer in continuing this unity within CoDA. We encourage each of us to be reminded that we are all in CoDA recovery, that we are here to love and be loved, and to strive to accept and love our likenesses and our differences while maintaining our beliefs and boundaries. To continue to grow and expand our loving relationships with ourselves and others and with our Higher Power. To be of service to our fellow codependents in CoDA. To let go of fear and control, to focus on CoDA unity and to trust all outcomes to a Loving Higher Power.

We wish each of you well in your continuing recovery. And we trust that as we all are growing in our recovery, CODA will continue to grow, expand and reach the hearts, minds and spirits of those who still suffer from codependence.

We thank you for joining us on this amazing spiritual journey of recovery and we wish you the greatest of Higher Power's Blessings.

With Love and Hugs,

Ken and Mary R.
