3.    How do I join the message boards?

a.    Here is how to request a free account to join the message boards and chatroom:

 1.  Go to Onlinecoda.net and click the tab for Forums/chat.

2.  Please read through the site guidelines.

3.  Near the top right of the new page is the tab "Register", among other tabs.  Clicking it will prompt you for the registration info.

4.  Submit the registration request.

5.  At this point, you should soon receive an email requesting that you confirm the address.

6.  After the address is confirmed, you will receive another email, usually within a day or two, from one of the moderatorsnotifying you that the account has been activated (the site is "staffed" by volunteers as they are available, so please be patient as we work to complete the process).  That email will also contain the password for the meeting room where the schedule is maintained.

NOTE - If you do not receive either of the emails mentioned in steps 5 and 6, please check your spam folder.  The registration process uses the Bcc field to protect your email address from theft and the messages are sometimes diverted.

There are thousands of posts on the message boards and a ton of support to encourage you on this journey.

4.    How do I access the chat room?

a.    In order to attend online meetings, follow these steps:

1.  Go to Onlinecoda.net and click the tab for Forums/Meetings.(STOP and wait for the page to load)

2.  Look at the top of the page, purple bar and click on the "chat room" box.

3.  Enter your email address and password. Fill out registration and join.

Registration on the message board’s forum is required to access the chat/meeting room.  By registering, Onlinecoda.net is verifying that an actual person is accessing the site.  This is a safety measure to ensure that meetings are not disrupted by spambots or other hackers.  Once registered, a confirmation email is sent and the password to the chat/meeting room is included.  If the email is misplaced, or diverted to a spam filter, there are several locations in the message boards which post the password to the meeting room.  Once you are ready to login to the chat/meeting room, simply choose a name and enter the password.  In the unlikely event that the name is already chosen, you will be requested try a different one.  The meeting/chat room is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so you may find others there even when there are no scheduled meetings occurring.
