CODA SERVICE CONFERENCE RECORDING

Many of us were pleased that our Service Conference was broadcast live on the internet last October 10 to 13, 2017. But then disappointment, as there were bugs that prevented people from listening in and viewing the screen shown to participants. Fortunately, though, it was recorded and the link above puts it on your computer screen and speakers.

This is a substantial event in six parts, each of which is four, five or six hours long! But the schedule is shown during the beginning minutes of each of them and there is a slider at the lower left enabling you to jump to any part of the session. And on the lower right, you may need to click on one of the icons to activate the sound. Also on the lower right is the session timer, handy when operating the “jump-around” slider.

Those of us attending were excited to to be broadcasting to all of the thousands of members of the Fellowship what has so long been restricted to those able to travel and stay for the week. This recording expands that to anyone with a modern internet connection and to any time you might have available.

Most of us joined CoDA in desperation, focusing intensely on resolving that distress, perhaps for some time. Right from the beginning, though, our program urges attention to the needs of other codependents still without what was enabling us to live life rather than just surviving.

CoDA World Service and all the more local groupings of meetings makes that possible in many ways, such as these Announcements, the web site and meeting finder. Less known are the legal protections safeguarding the CoDA name, a careful process to produce high-quality literature and support for the beginnings of CoDA in other lands and other languages.

All this is done by volunteers so grateful to our program that we gladly give of our time and abilities. But we have to figure out ways to work together and we do that at our annual Service Conference. Now you can listen in, see our presentations and know that the small, safe meeting where you have found solace is part of worldwide efforts to spread our message and our benefits.
