I Honour Me
Dear Me,
The same Me who failed Me
Who derailed against better intentions
Who failed to mention boundaries
Confounded by the sound of consciousness
Bewildered and distrusting of My own gut
Shamed by the lust of whatever rush was in front of Me
Teenaged and hungry…
…I honour Thee
For every hard moment after waking up, You’re there for me
Instead of judging, You care for Me
Make space so I can lay bare My fear of scarcity
And without question, You cherish Me
Whatever unfairness comes to be, I feel held by your unending care
To the Me who recognized patterns
Still prone to pain and sadness
But so glad for the access to the power that blooms from the same place of lack
The very power I thought I’d never get back
From the same inner teen that I went to all lengths to repress, comes the healing and strength I need to progress
To the Me I need
To the Me who’s freed —
For as long as I live, I will honour the privilege it is to forgive You.
