CoDA Weekly Reading 4/2/24

Precious & Free

What do you mean,

Does that really apply to ME?!

When I joined CoDA

It was years in the making

Of giving, of losing,

Heart and soul up for the taking

Identity lost,

If I ever had one of my own

Walking into a meeting

The first step, felt an impossible one

My life WAS unmanageable

I scrawled in the linings

What would manageable even look like??

Now, 3 months in, I've started to see the light

Higher Power?!

Mine had abandoned me, so I thought

But in moments of quiet

I found the peace I'd long sought

Each day is a new journey

But I struggle far less

When I breathe and turn it over

Admit that I'm blessed

My new relationships are in fact

Worthy of trust, and of me

In this moment I acknowledge

Yes, I AM precious and free
