for your gc regarding the motions & issues coming up at the July 2013
Conference.

We ask that you & your meeting please consider taking a few minutes to
review this material, & letting your Conference Delegates know what your
area's group conscience is on these issues.

Per CoDA's 12 Traditions & 12 Service Concepts, the delegates are
encouraged to vote the will of the fellowship they represent, rather
than their own will. Another important role of your delegates is to keep
you & your local fellowship informed of issues effecting CoDA as a
whole, & where appropriate to make the CoDA World Fellowship aware of
your local area's group conscience.

Board Summary for CoDA World Board Conference Call

Dear Fellowship,

Our May Conference Call as usual opened with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. We also read the 5th Tradition and the 5th Service Concept. Attending were Lisa, Evie, Barbara, Dagmar, Florence, David, Mercedes and Jutta. We had no observers. We approved April's minutes There were no group conscience decisions to ratify.

The Treasurer gave her report. We did not receive the CoRe check in time to deposit it although it had been received at the time of our call. All paperwork has been submitted to finalize the transfer of all our accounts from our old to our new bank. The liability insurance forms still need to be sent to the chair for signature.

As a result of the recent changes in the CoRe board there have been no recent meetings of the small group (2 members from each board) that has been working to develop a new contract for CoRe. The CoDA board chair will contact them to attempt to get the meetings restarted. The effort to develop a new contract has been in process for several years and we are hopeful that we will see additional progress soon.

We approved the request from the Communication Committee to have two members attend the upcoming CoDA Service Conference (CSC). The committee is responsible for writing the daily update announcements and we felt that it was important to have two people who could back each other up in this task.

We finalized all but one of the 4 motions that we are submitting containing requested changes to our Fellowship Service Manual (FSM). Most of these motions involve corrections or clarifications that we feel are needed. The 4th motion will be finalized in time to submit them all before the May 10 cutoff for motions that affect our foundational documents.

We finalized a letter that we will be sending to all Voting Entities (VEs) soliciting VE reports. VEs with delegates attending CSC may request to give a short presentation about their VE. Those unable to attend may send a report that will be distributed to attendees.

We closed the meeting with the Serenity Prayer at 10:45am Pacific time.

CoDA Announcements: Communications Committee Needs Members

Curious about what the Communications Committee does?

We'd love to have other codependents join the work to keep the fellowship informed about CoDA. Recently the Communications Committee sent out email blasts about the existence of holiday marathon phone meetings, the four documents that must be read at all CoDA meetings and the duties of delegates to the CoDA Service Conference (CSC). We decide on the content of the email blasts using a group conscience process via email and telephone conferencing.

If you have at least one year of experience working on your CoDA program, participating in deliberations at the Communications Committee's monthly telephone committee meetings will add new dimensions to your recovery. That can mean working with others to help the fellowship grow and stay informed about the range of activities available through CoDA; learning how to create and edit email blasts and other reports that committees produce; learning to work with those who may have a different point of view without taking that personally and learning about the several ways that exist in CoDA to keep people informed, such as email lists in Spanish, directed to Committee Chairs, or focused on Hospitals and Institutions issues.

Our April Conference Call as usual opened up with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. We also read the 4th Tradition and the 4th Service Concept. Attending were Evie, Barbara, Hal, David and Jutta. We had no observers. We approved February and March minutes We unanimously voted to ratify the following motions approved by group conscience during the previous month:

●   Invite Committee Chairs & Fellowship Service Workers to a pre-CSC meeting to include team-building
●   Invitation for the pre-CSC meeting with the chairs
●   Small Group Finance Motion 5: How to handle private time added to business travel
●   Small Group Finance Motion 6: Appropriate reimbursement for round trips to airport for drop off and pick up
●   Response to CoDA member’s proposal to update logos
●   Letter to Intergroups regarding decision not to allow Intergroup use of our answering service due to tradition violation
●   Approve funding for the Pro-Outreach Task Force to hold a face to face meeting and for the 2 co-chairs to attend the CoDA Service Conference (CSC)
●   Email blast for upcoming Board vacancies in 2013 and 2014

The Treasurer gave her report. Our financial worth increased by an unusual amount this month due to receiving a refund from CoRe of money previously provided for translations and 2 months of payment which brought them up to current. The paperwork has been completed and turned in to the bank to complete the transfer of our investment accounts. The application process was started for liability insurance and fidelity bond. Information was about potentially hiring an Association Management Company (AMC) for CoDA. Our suggestions for changes to our prudent reserve policy and updates to our Expense Reimbursement (ERR) policy were shared with the Finance Committee who will be developing the motions for CSC.

There have been changes in the CoRe board recently that are affecting the small group (2 members from each board) that has been working to develop a new contract for CoRe. Previous 2+2 meetings have resulted in agreement on about 4 and 5 paragraphs. Hopefully the 2+2 meetings will be able to start again soon.

We agreed that the current version of the Website Request for Proposal (RFP) improved by a board member's coworker is ready to go. The RFP for the Meeting Search Engine needs to have the same changes incorporated and approved by the board. A draft process has been developed for handling the 2 RFPs and the proposals that we receive in response. This is likely to require some significant time on the reviews' parts. We hope to have everything ready to go in the near future.

In order to ensure that we have adequate resources at the July CoDA CSC to handle the updating of the motions database, we have authorized the attendance of the Admin Fellowship Service worker and the Webmaster. We have also authorized the purchase of a laptop for CoDA, to be in the custody of the Webmaster, to be used for this effort. We discussed some concerns related to hotel room availability due to changes in the pre-CSC schedule and the fact that available rooms were not held specifically for board members so have been taken by others who are arriving early. We will work with the Events committee to resolve these problems and hope to put plans in place for next year so we don't have the same problems.

We reviewed the proposed motions that came out of the Fellowship Service Manual (FSM) small group at our February face to face meeting. We recommended small changes and these will be sent out via email to get group conscience approval prior to our May con call when they will be approved via ratification. We reviewed the proposed simplified delegate registration form which will be revised and resent for Board and Events approval once we hear back from our corporate attorney whether a last name must be supplied since the CSC is our corporation's annual meeting.

We closed the meeting with the serenity prayer at 10:30am Pacific time.

CoDA Announcements: Facilitator Needed For 2013 Service Conference

THe Events Committee is looking for a Facilitator for this years 2013 CoDA Service Conference.

1. You must have knowledge of 12 step programs.
2. The Community Problem Solving Method

The Community Problem Solving Method follows a basic four-stage process
1) 1. Identifying an issue or problem—gathering information
2) 2. Brainstorming—formulating solutions or recommendations
3) 3. Crafting a motion from the suggested solutions or recommendations
4) 4. Voting on the motion (No second or amendments are needed.)

If you would be interested in being our facilitator this year let us know ASAP. It will be in Las Vegas, NV July 9th
thru the 12th.

Your travel, Flight, meals and room will be covered by the normal reimbursement policy.

4. Role of the Chair/Facilitator:

Conference time management is essential to accomplish our work. The Conference Chairperson is responsible for promoting
the smooth and orderly flow of business. The Chairperson may be assisted by a Facilitator.

The Chairperson/Facilitator is charged with maintaining order at the microphone and in the conference room. Therefore,
when the Chairperson/Facilitator strikes the gavel or calls for “thirty seconds” of silence, all speaking and discussion will
cease. Each period of silence will be followed by the Serenity Prayer
.
There may be times when the Chairperson/Facilitator may need to interrupt a speaker to ask for clarification, correct a
procedural error or maintain time limits adopted by group conscience.

The Chairperson/Facilitator may call for a group conscience at any time in order to reach a quick consensus to complete
business.

CoDA Announcements: Submitting Local Issues To The 2013 Service Conference

& Goals) to events for inclusion on the website." To ensure that Voting Entitys have an opportunity to review VE
Issues, Motions and By-Law Changes prior to CSC, all Items must be submitted to events committee and

CoDA Announcements: Future Board Vacancies

From the Board of Trustees:

During the upcoming CoDA Service Conference (July 9-12, 2013), the Fellowship will elect members to the CoDA, Inc. Board
of Trustees (the Board).

·         This year (2013) there will be an opening for one (1) Trustee, and three (3) Alternate Trustees.

·         In 2014 there will be six (6) Trustee openings and three (3) Alternate Trustee openings.

Due to this large need in 2014, the Board is sending out this message to encourage CoDA members to consider joining the
2013-2014 Board as a Trustee or Alternate Trustee.

·         The Job descriptions for a Trustee and an Alternate Trustee are quite similar except that alternates have no vote.
Alternate Trustees participate in every other way with discussions, projects, liaison assignments, etc. Serving as an Alternate can be a rewarding experience, and it allows new Board members to become familiar with the work.

·         During the year, the bulk of our work transpires through email, along with monthly teleconference meetings, and 2 to 3 face-to-face Board meetings a year.

·         On average Trustees (including Alternates) may work 5-10 hours per week depending upon particular projects and
responsibilities. During critical times such as preparation for CSC, trustees may work 10- 20 hours in a week.

·         There are four (4) officer positions which are voted on each year. (International CoDA members may serve on the
Board, however, U.S. law prohibits them from serving as officers.)

With the 2013 Conference just around the corner, (July 12th!), we wanted to share this information with you; both as a reminder to returning delegates & also to the CoDA fellowship as a whole: it's important to note that per the 2nd tradition it is hoped that your elected CoDA delegates represent the Group conscience of your CoDA community rather than their own opinions. Another important role of your delegates is to keep you & your local fellowship informed of issues effecting CoDA as a whole, & where appropriate to make the CoDA World Fellowship aware of your local area's group conscience.

Delegate Checklist

First and foremost, a delegate is responsible for being a conduit for communication between the CSC and the fellowship. The following is a checklist that we hope will help delegates ensure that they have completed all their duties before, during and after Conference.

Several motions were passed at the 2010 CSC that requires VE Issues and all motions be sent to the Events Committee at least 60 days prior to the start of CSC. This is to allow adequate time for the delegates to retrieve these items and pass them on to their respective communities so that the communities and meetings can know what is happening and share their group conscience on each matter. Thus, the voice of the CoDA membership may be heard and voted by delegates at Conference.

1.    Ensure that any items the VE wishes brought to Conference are available according to the time line (60 days prior to the start of CSC).
2.    Check the CoDA .org website early and often to acquire all items to be brought to the Conference floor and provide these to the communities' reps for group conscience at the meetings.
3.    Check with the communities for all membership group conscience on items to be brought to the Conference (from the CoDA website).
4.    Preparation for Conference: have all group conscience decisions for items and be familiar with the delegate package provided on CoDA website.
5.    At Conference, be sure to vote as your VE's collective group conscience has determined. Also, keep good notes and collect any handouts to show to your VE.
6.    After Conference, write a report on all that transpired, including the status of your VE's motions, if any, and the status of all motions voted on or tabled at the Conference. Understand that the database does not often give much detail about the motions, so any detail you can provide will be helpful.
7.    If your VE has submitted issues or motions that were given to a committee to decide, be sure to acquire and maintain contact with that committee so that you can monitor progress on your issues and perhaps initiate motion from that committee.
8.    Emphasize to the Voting Entity secretary, Intergroup officers, and group representatives the importance of sending current directory information to CoDA as changes occur.
9.    Act as a liaison for the Voting Entity and CoDA Board of Trustees
10.   Keep the alternate Delegate informed and engaged with all activities, correspondence, and events to build the alternate's expertise in Intergroup, Voting Entity, and CoDA matters.
11.   When your term is over, be sure to pass this checklist and all pertinent information to your successor. All delegates should have enough time in CoDA to understand that service work is sometimes trying of one's patience and be equipped to handle the stress at Conference and of disagreeing with others without losing one's cool. This is not always the case and it can cause extra tension. Be prepared to deal with and handle the extra tension and not cause any of it. Delegates should also strive to learn as much about how CoDA works as possible. Ask members who have participated at the World CoDA level. If there is no one available close to you, there are members available through email. The Outreach Committee or the Communications Committee may be able to put you in touch with people you can talk to and get the information you need.

CoDA Announcements: Board Call Summary for February 2013

Board Summary for CoDA World Board Face to Face Meeting
February 23-24, 2013

Dear Fellowship,

Our February 2013 face to face meeting opened as usual opened up with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. We also read the 2nd Tradition and the 2nd Service Concept. Attending were David, Lisa, Mercedes, Hal, Florence, Barbara, Dagmar, and Evie. Unfortunately Jutta was not able to join us due to a strike at the airport in Germany that closed all air traffic. We approved our January minutes. We unanimously voted to ratify the following motions approved by group conscience during the previous month:

*    Revisions to the Voting Entity contact page
*    Approval of payment of per diem for two members of the Hospitals and Institutions committee who live in the area where their face to face meeting was held
*    Changes in board liaisons to two committees
*    Sending of a correction to the email announcement that reported on day 2 of the 2012 CoDA Service Conference
*    Posting on the CoDA website of a link that allows people to find roommates for the 2013 CoDA Service Conference and Convention
      We then took turns each doing a check-in/share prior to the start of the business portion of the meeting.

We reviewed the status of the Board goals that were presented at the 2012 CoDA Service Conference and discussed ways to move forward on some of them. We confirmed that those US Voting Entities who are using the CoDA seal on their website did not get permission to do so because they were unaware that it was needed and agreed that a process needs to be developed to ensure that this happens in the future. We discussed the possibility of obtaining the trademark for "CoDA World Fellowship" and, based on input from our intellectual property lawyer, decided not to do so at this time. We tabled discussion on finalizing the procedure for contract signing until the Translation Management Committee has clarified what they believe their responsibilities are in this process.

We discussed several things related to the proposal for a new website developed and sent for review by the Web Work Group. We will be working with the Spanish Outreach committee to develop a plan for the Spanish portion of the website. We reviewed and revised the proposed Request for Proposals (RFP) document and are awaiting some additional review before formally posting it on the Elance.com site. The final item needed is a process for evaluating proposals that are submitted.

We discussed several items that had been tabled from our January conference call. We agreed that we will accept signed Voting Entity agreements to us electronically, the only exception being the Copyright Assignment since legally we MUST have an original signed paper document for it, not a scanned copy. We agreed that it will be CoDA policy to sign Publication & Distribution agreements with legal entities only. However, should a situation arise outside the US where a legal entity is not available special consideration may requested from the board.

We discussed the Service Structure Committee's request to hire a paid worker to make the necessary Fellowship Service Manual updates approved at the 2012 CoDA Service Conference. We agreed unanimously that the board does not support hiring paid workers to do what is clearly defined as the committee's CoDA Service Conference approved work.

We discussed concerns raised by our administrative Fellowship Service Worker related to her inability to get her work done in the hours allocated to her each month and her concern about the volume of work that she has. We voted to double her allocated hours. We supported her request for a change in her board liaison. Her board liaison will also work with her to see if there are tasks currently handled by her that might be moved elsewhere to lessen her workload.

We are awaiting a response from our corporate lawyer about whether we should purchase liability insurance (which was recommended to us) in place of the bond we have now. Any further action on this was tabled until we get that response.

After breaking for lunch we broke into 3 smaller groups to address several items. One group addressed items we have identified that either will require a change to the Fellowship Service Manual (FSM) or where there are errors or inconsistencies in the FSM. Motions will be developed for presentation to the CoDA Service Conference (CSC) for any identified changes needed. A second group identified a series of items related to the annual CSC which required either procedural changes or development of a procedure where one does not formally exist. Motions for presentation to CSC will be developed where appropriate. The third group addressed financial items that have surfaced recently. Some of these can and will be handled by board vote and others will involve motions that will be brought to CSC for approval.

All small groups sent reports to the whole board and, after a short discussion on one item, we closed for the day with the Serenity Prayer.

We opened the second day with the Serenity Prayer and another round robin check-in. We prioritized the remaining items to be addressed. We discussed whether our paid workers are employees or independent contractors. We agreed that we believe we are properly handling our workers as independent contractors. We will do some additional research and then review our position with our corporate lawyer and our CPA to confirm our findings.

The last item we discussed were some systemic issues that have become evident to us from our own experience and from feedback from other members of the Fellowship. We believe that these systemic issues may be having a negative impact, both real and perceived, on World level service and hence on our Fellowship as a whole.

During our meeting we identified a few key issues. These include the fear & reluctance to spend money even when the expense is both needed and appropriate; the negative perception by members of the Fellowship of those doing service at the world level; and the lack of trust that appears to exist between several standing committees and the board. We initiated and plan to continue brainstorming about causes and possible solutions for these issues. We also hope to work with the two ad hoc committees/task forces that have been established at recent CoDA Service Conferences to address some of the same issues as well as with the standing committee chairs.

We also are exploring the possibility of hiring an executive director to focus on the business details of Board work so that the Trustees can devote more time and focus on the Fellowship issues. We are trusted servants doing the business of CoDA. Within that job, our goals are first to develop and maintain healthy and loving relationships with Higher Power, ourselves and others, second to carry out God's will as expressed through the Fellowship group conscience process, and third to reach the still-suffering codependent.

We closed the meeting at noon with the Serenity Prayer.

CoDA Announcements: Correction To CSC 2012 Wednesday Day 2 Mailing

It has been brought to the Board's attention that there was misinformation sent out in last year's CSC report via our email blast. We feel it is important to correct this misinformation because this error states that the Board banned individuals from attending their local meetings which would be against our traditions. Please see below.

CORRECTED STATEMENT--“IMC Report – 3 major disputes were handled and completed by the committee. One was resolvable. One took one year and another took a year and a half. Since, two disputes were complex & irresolvable, they were turned over to the Board of Trustees for final review. Per CoDA’s Fellowship approved policy, our Twelve Service Concepts and Twelve Traditions, the Board temporarily removed individuals from service work at the World level. “

Board Summary for CoDA World Board Conference Call

January 12, 2013 8:30am-10:30am PST

Dear Fellowship,

Our January Conference Call as usual opened up with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. We also read the 1st Tradition and the 1st Service Concept. Attending were David, Lisa, Mercedes, Hal, Florence, Barbara, Dagmar, and Jutta. We had no observers. We approved our December minutes. We unanimously voted to ratify the following motions approved by group conscience during the previous month:

Approved a few hours of technical time for our email list coordinator to research making our emails more smart phone friendly
Approval of letters written to the three sanctioned members and to IMC about the change in the requirement to make amends to return to CoDA World service.
Approval of T Rowe Price letter concerning the donation offered.

The Treasurer gave her report. We voted unanimously to approve a $1000 increase in the Translation Management Committee budget to cover two new members' attendance at their face to face meeting later in the month.

We recommended that CoRe, our CoDA literature and materials center, be responsible for recordings at the annual convention. The details of how this will work need to be determined by CoRe and the Events committee.

We agreed that we will use Elance.com to hire contractors to rebuild our meeting search software and for the development of the new website. We agreed that the web and Events liaisons will work together on the request by the Spanish Outreach committee to have the Spanish translation of the Service Conference and Convention material, including the registration page, available on our website. We chose a liaison for Greece and she will be contacting them using our welcome letter.

After much discussion about the effect that travel through many times zones has on board members, we agreed that we would like to have the Expense Reimbursement Policy amended to include up to two additional travelling days for people travelling more than 4 time zones.

We discussed the possibility of a board liaison visit to Russia at some time in the future and agreed that now is not the time since they have several widely scattered meetings over the entire country and no country wide structure. As a result of this discussion we agreed that we want to develop an infrastructure for working with new Voting Entities based on the experiences we have had so far. We also hope to develop a data bank of lessons learned from those and future experiences.

As a result of a question received from Japan we discussed that we need to determine the proper handling of old conference approved material that in no longer in general use. We agreed that any copyrighted material must go through the Translation Management process.

We discussed but did not reach any resolution on two legal items that came up while working with Israel to get the Voting Entity agreements signed to allow them to translate and publish our literature. Both items were tabled for further discussion at our upcoming face to face meeting.

We discussed the Service Structure Committee's request to hire someone to incorporate the changes approved at the 2012 Service Conference into the Fellowship Service Manual. This item was also tabled to our face to face meeting.

We closed the meeting with the serenity prayer at 10:30am Pacific time.

2013 International CoDA Convention July 12th-14th, 2013 Friday, Saturday & Sunday Convention Registration includes all workshops and speaker meetings (Speaker meeting doors open after meal, for convention attendees who don’t purchase the meal). Board Summary for CoDA World Board Conference Call December 1, 2012 8:30am-10:30am PST

Dear Fellowship,

Our December Conference Call as usual opened up with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. We also read the 12th Tradition and the 12th Service Concept. All 9 board members participated and there were no observers. We approved our November minutes. We unanimously voted to ratify the one motion approved by group conscience during the previous month which was to renew ownership of various domain names.

The Treasurer gave her report. We have closed the Smith Barney checking account and have transferred all of that money to the savings account. We are still planning on transferring the savings account to Chase so that all of our funds will be with Chase.

We made a decision to have our face to face meeting February 22-24 in Orlando, FL. An east coast location was chosen to make the trip easier for our European members and a Florida location was chosen to hopefully cut down on any weather related travel problems.

We approved the signing of the hotel contract for the 2013 CoDA Service Conference (CSC) and Convention. We also approved the sending of the initial deposit. The events will be held July 9-14 in Las Vegas, NV.

We discussed the progress that has been made by the Web Work Group in completing a requirements document for development of a new website. The document is nearing completion and will be sent to the Board and Committees for their review. A Request for Proposal will also be developed for use in seeking development proposals.

We discussed the request made by the Issues Mediation Committee (IMC) to be removed from responsibility for managing the Voting Entity Issues Process. We support this desire although implementation will require approval of a motion at the 2013 CSC.

After additional discussion, we decided that we will not accept the anonymous donation that was made through a T Rowe Price fund. We agreed that acceptance of this donation would violate our 7th Tradition because it was to be used for a specific purpose. In addition, the amount exceeded the allowable yearly amount from an individual.

Although there was concern about the way that the request was handled, we approved CoRe's request for a new board liaison.

Several agenda items were postponed to be handled via email or during our January con call in order to honor our decision to make every effort to limit our calls to 2 hours.

We closed the meeting with the serenity prayer at 10:35am Pacific time.

We have great news! The phone meetings are having around the clock meetings, & all members are welcome!

A recording will ask the caller to enter a PIN number it is:
317531#

They will then be asked to record their name followed by pressing the # button.

Note: Recording one's name is optional. One can be silent during the time set for the recording of a name. Be sure to wait at least a second, whether recording one's name or not, before pressing the # button. Otherwise it will ask you to record your name again. The recording will then say that you are coming into the group.

Important: When a person enters the group they are automatically muted.
To un-mute for the opening prayer and when sharing, they need to press *6 (star 6). All other times we ask people to stay muted, by pressing *6, so the line will stay clear for sharing. No need for concern with this: The recorded voice will say each time after *6 is pressed if one is muted or un-muted.

Holiday Support meeting times:

Christmas Eve:
Starting 2pm Eastern (11am pacific) to Midnight Eastern (9pm Pacific)

The rest:
Christmas Day:
New Year's Eve:
New Year's Day:
all will start at 9am Eastern - (6am Pacific) and go to Midnight E.S.T

If people would like later meetings (since Midnight E.S.T. is only 9pm Pacific) those could be added as well.

There are some gaps that the Moderators at the 1pm meeting are willing to fill in. But we would greatly appreciate additional support from CoDA members (who've been in CoDA for at least three months) who would like to Moderate a one hour meeting. Either way, by email or phone we will go over the schedule and see if there is a time that works for everyone.

Other than the opening statement and the sharing guidelines being read, Moderators are free to choose the type of meeting they would like to lead. Qualification, literature, Steps, etc.

The Holidays can be particularly trying for many individuals in recovery. Feelings of loneliness, isolation, and depression often seem to be magnified or easily overwhelm some of us.

All of us, and perhaps especially those who are newer in the program, may find it helpful to hear that it is a common phenomenon experienced by many of us this time of year. Having the awareness of this unfortunate, dark, holiday pattern may keep those feelings from overtaking the possibility of making the season special, hopeful, light-hearted, pleasant, and rewarding in so many ways and on so many different levels.

Remember that we are always able to call a friend, another 12-step member, a sponsor, or even a CoDA phone meeting or Spanish CoDA phone meeting. We also have two CoDA volunteer staffed telephone numbers available to us. CoDA's toll-free English number, posted on the coda.org site, is (888) 444-2359. Our espanol toll-free, number is (888) 444-2379.

Maybe if you're reading this you might take it as your own personal challenge to call someone right now!

To be considered a CoDA meeting, four Foundational Documents must be read as written:

The Twelve Steps
The Twelve Traditions
The Welcome (Long or short version)
The Preamble

Except for the Foundational Documents, groups are autonomous to include other items in their meeting format. You can find these other CoDA endorsed items at

Some of those particularly long items, e.g. The Patterns, may be read a section at a time--they do not have to be read all at once.

Groups may create their own literature, and any literature not endorsed by The Fellowship must be accompanied by a disclaimer, for example:

CoDA allows every group to read non-CoDA-endorsed literature at a meeting, provided a disclosure is read. This following literature is not CoDA-approved, but has been group conscienced for this meeting.

Finally, per The Traditions, and to aid newcomers, groups are reminded to publicize anything unique to their meetings on the meeting search list.
