This is a resending of a message that originally went out on 11/25/16.

The contents of this email were originally written by the CoDA Email List Coordinator,  & were vetted for re-publication by the Friday Fellowship subcommittee of the CoDA Communications Committee,

We previously sent out an email titled "CoDA Meeting Registration Inventory" written by the CoDA Communications Committee in 2013.

While everything in that email was 100% accurate, some who do service for Coda World Fellowship have discovered that there is currently some language on the website & in the Fellowship Service Manual that may be confusing to members.

To be an official CoDA meeting, 2 things are required (& must be followed):

1. Reading the 4 foundational documents:

      A. The 12 Steps

      B. The 12 Traditions

      C. The Welcome

      D. The Preamble

This is stated in writing at the link below, along with the actual 4 documents & more:

Another very useful document is the CoDA Meeting Handbook:

Also, if a meeting chooses by Group Conscience to use non conference approved literature (books or essays from professional authors, &/or non CoDA programs, etc; a disclaimer must be read that states something similar to "The literature we are reading tonight is not endorsed by the Codependents Anonymous Fellowship or CoDA Service Conference. We are using it by Group conscience of this meeting"

Here is a link to a summary of the 1990 CoDA Service Conference motion that created this policy.

Additionally, their are requirements for a CoDA State or local website if you wish to mutually link to the main CoDA website. That & much more can be found in the CoDA Fellowship Service Manual:

                                 Geff R

The purpose of this list is to share information with any & all CoDA members, especially that which may effect CoDA as a whole.

Per the 2nd tradition, For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority, a loving higher power as expressed to our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern. Developing a group conscience requires an informed fellowship, & to be effective trusted servants those you've elected must know the group conscience of the fellowship.
