“That Voice on the Phone Saved my Life….” what one CoDA member said, describing her call to CoDA. She was connected to a CoDA volunteer who understood enough of her fear and struggle to get her over the hump into a meeting. The rest is history for her.

She is one of many who call into our toll free line (888) 444-2359 needing the experience and empathy of a CoDA member. The challenge is we have only two volunteers answering at this time, both male, so we need more, especially female CoDA volunteers. Is there any chance you take a slot in the schedule, convenient to you, so you would be the member that could take the call?

Our system has been greatly improved, now, so routine and business matters are diverted to other lines. At the end of our new menu the caller is told, “If you are wondering what it is like to attend CoDA meetings or what beginning recovery from codependence is like, press 4 to speak to a CoDA volunteer.”

Doing that causes the phone to ring simultaneously for all the volunteers scheduled at that time. So who’s ever is most available can answer and be the one to speak to the caller. If this is a kind of service that fits with your interests and your recovery, please email us at or call the CoDA toll-free number and press 4 to speak to one of us.
