[list_settings.list_name]: New Recovery Tool Announcement

From: "[list_settings.list_name]" <codalist@codependents.org>
Date: October 29th 2010

Following review and approval by the Board and the CoDA Literature Committee, a new service document has been posted on the CoDA website under "Tools for Recovery" in the PDF section, which we believe will be invaluable in advancing the outreach efforts of CoDA groups and communities This document is titled "Recovery from Codependence" and contains the Preamble, the Welcome, the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, the new Patterns and Characteristics of Codependency and the Twelve Promises

It is intended to be downloaded and copied as a two-sided single page document that can be folded into four sections, creating a simple one-page brochure that can be copied at minimal cost There is a space on the front panel for groups or communities to insert by stamp or label local contact information It is our hope that members of the CoDA fellowship will find this useful to hand out as a simple tool for introducing newcomers and interested members of the public to CoDA and its message of hope We envision its use at local fairs, conventions and other public events that provide booths or access to 12-step organizations, CoDA seminars and conventions and inclusion in newcomers packets for distribution at local CoDA meetings This is a concrete and practical means way to carry out the wisdom of Step Twelve: "Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other codependents, and to practice these principles in all our affairs"

Developing a group conscience requires an informed fellowship, & to be effective trusted servants those you've elected must know the group conscience of the fellowship.
